Doug Robins BMSi
For his contribution to the BCIA and in particular the development of the very first NVQ in Building Management Systems. Doug has dedicated much of his time over the past three years to driving forward the NVQ, and it’s thanks to his determination that the BCIA were able to launch this new qualification in March this year. Not content with simply setting up the NVQ, Doug is now helping to form the BCIA into an Assessment Centre so that they can ensure high quality delivery of the qualification. The NVQ is a major step for the Association, and has put the BCIA on a new footing within our industry. Doug is a very deserving winner of this Award. |

In 2009, BMSi completed a number of key projects to help Luton Airport improve heating, air-conditioning and energy management in both ‘behind the scenes’ environments and customer areas. As early results won the confidence of the terminal managers, BMSi was also asked to implement significant software modifications to increase the plant’s efficiency. Ultimately BMSi’s projects have saved over 1 million kw/h of gas and over 2,500,000 kw/h of electricity. The success has come from BMSi engineers working closely together with the client team at Luton Airport to continually deliver savings. |
